About the Journal
Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary (ISSN 3091-1834) is a scientific journal managed by OM Editorial, based in Manabí, Ecuador. Its main objective is to promote the dissemination of knowledge through the publication of original research developed with rigorous and controlled methods. All articles are presented in digital format, with completely free and open access, and undergo a process of anonymous evaluation by specialized peers under the modality of “double-blind peer review”.
Published quarterly, the journal offers a multidisciplinary space to promote the advancement of knowledge in multiple areas. Among the disciplines covered are Education, Social Sciences, Humanities, Economics, Natural Sciences, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Engineering, Agriculture, Health and Welfare, among others, which guarantees a diverse and broad coverage in its field of action.
Objective and Scope: Based on a Multidisciplinary Science approach, Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary is dedicated to the publication of academic and scientific research that stands out for its methodological rigor. The journal welcomes contributions from both national and international authors interested in offering innovative and relevant solutions to contemporary challenges from their diverse areas of expertise.
Open Access Policy: The journal promotes an open access policy that ensures that all its content is fully available without economic barriers or restrictions for users or institutions. This means that anyone can consult, download, share, copy, print, link or use published articles for legitimate purposes, without the need to request additional permissions from the publisher or authors. This policy encourages the free flow of knowledge and supports its responsible use in various academic and professional contexts.
Self-Archiving Conditions: Authors are free to store and share the final version of their articles (either the post-print or the PDF provided by the publisher) in institutional repositories, thematic repositories or on their personal platforms, as long as the purpose of the use is strictly non-commercial.
Fees or Payments: Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary DOES NOT IMPOSE ANY CHARGE FOR SUBMISSION, REVIEW OR PUBLICATION OF MANUSCRIPTS, thus ENSURING THAT THE ENTIRE EDITORIAL PROCESS IS COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE FOR THE AUTHORS, PROMOTING ACCESSIBILITY AND EQUALITY IN SCIENTIFIC DISSEMINATION.
Creative Commons License: All articles published in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which allows users to share and adapt the content as long as there are no commercial purposes and proper attribution is given.
Target audience: The journal is aimed at a diverse audience, including students, professionals, academics, researchers and anyone interested in the scientific field, both locally and internationally.
Publication dates: Published quarterly, the journal publishes four issues per year:
- The January issue covers the period from January to March,
- The April issue covers the period April to June,
- The July issue covers the months from July to September,
- The October issue covers the period from October to December.
Categories of accepted manuscripts: Contributions are accepted under the following modalities: (a) Original research articles, which present significant and novel advances. (b) Review articles, focused on synthesizing and analyzing existing information in specific areas. (c) Scientific communications, previously presented in academic events or specialized congresses. (d) Letters to the editor, which offer critical comments, observations or relevant clarifications. (e) State of the art, which exhaustively describe the development and current trends in a field of knowledge. (f) Book reviews, aimed at the critical analysis of works of academic relevance. It is essential that the manuscripts submitted are completely unpublished, not having been previously disclosed or simultaneously submitted for evaluation in other editorial platforms.
Digital preservation policies
Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary uses the OJS (Open Journal System) to guarantee the archiving and digital preservation of all its content. Each published article receives a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) managed by Crossref, which ensures a unique and persistent identification, avoiding localization problems due to changes in URLs or other factors.
PKP Preservation Network (PN)
The PKP Preservation Network (PKP Preservation Network) provides free preservation services for any OJS journal that meets the basic criteria. In this regard, for digital preservation, Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary articles are archived in LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), thus guaranteeing the journal a permanent and secure archive.
LOCKSS
Open Journal Systems, which hosts Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary, supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system that guarantees the journal a permanent and secure archive. LOCKSS is an open source program developed by the Stanford University Library that allows libraries to curate selected web journals by regularly searching registered journals to collect new published content and archive it. Each archive is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so any damaged or lost content can be restored using those records or the journal itself. Archived issues can be found in the LOCKSS Editorial Manifesto.

In this way, articles are progressively archived, ensuring that the stored digital information can remain and continue to be used in the future.
CLOCKSS
Open Journal Systems also supports CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) to guarantee a permanent and secure archive for the journal. CLOCKSS is based on the open source LOCKSS software developed at Stanford University Library, which allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly checking registered journal websites for recently published content and archiving it. Each archive is constantly validated against other library caches and, if it is detected that content has been corrupted or lost, the other caches or the journal are used to restore it. Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary is also complete and open access in different databases, which guarantees identification and avoids localization problems due to URL changes or similar. Finally, the journal publishes an HTML and PDF version of each article, which allows its export, whether they exist now or may appear in the future.

Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary has enabled all available interaction options such as:
OAI-PMH - OPEN AIRE-DRIVER -TINYMCE - MODULO INDEXATION DUBLIN CORE, among others, allows to be collected by other content distribution systems.
All Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary articles allow interoperability to be collected by other distribution systems, such as digital repositories and/or harvesters. The OAI-PMH (Open Archive Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interoperability protocol is specially incorporated with the option of obtaining different formats for metadata.
