Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Requirement of original content:
It is mandatory that authors download and complete the originality statement format, making sure to provide all required information, especially when multiple authors are involved. See the Authorship and Ethics Template, Contribution Template for more details.

Citation and referencing guidelines:
Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary uses APA guidelines (7th edition) as the international standard for citing references. Authors can find more information on these guidelines at: https://apastyle.apa.org/.

Formal aspects:

  • Manuscripts should be between 10 and 25 pages in length, including all complementary elements such as title page, illustrations, bibliographical references and appendices.
  • The file should be sent in editable Word format (.doc or .docx), using A4 size paper, with standard margins of 2.5 cm, 12-point Arial font, 1.15 line spacing, no spacing between paragraphs and no indentation.
  • Each page should be numbered consecutively in the lower right corner.
  • The graphs and tables incorporated must be properly identified, according to the guidelines established in the APA norms, seventh edition.
  • The use of bold and underlined text in the body of the text is prohibited, only italics are allowed to emphasize technical concepts, relevant terms or expressions in other languages.
  • Abbreviations and acronyms must be explained in parentheses the first time they are mentioned in the content.
  • If URLs are included, they must be functional, complete and provided when available.

Writing aspects:
It is essential to ensure a high level of accuracy in spelling, grammar and semantics, both in Spanish and English. It is suggested to maintain an impersonal tone, preferably using the third person singular for greater formality and objectivity.

Legal aspects:
The correct attribution of sources is mandatory to avoid any form of plagiarism, either by textual use or by paraphrasing. Failure to comply with this rule, including the detection of plagiarism or self-plagiarism, will be sufficient reason for immediate rejection of the manuscript. Only papers that are completely original will be considered for publication.

Ethical Conduct - Code of Ethics:
Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary encourages commitment to rigorous ethical conduct at all stages of the editorial process. Authors, reviewers, readers and committee members are expected to act with professional integrity and comply with ethical standards recognized by the international scientific community. The journal adheres to the major international codes of ethics, including the Code of Conduct and Best Practices Guidelines for Journal Editors of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) [http://www.councilscienceeditors.org], the guidelines of the Council of Science Editors (http://www.councilscienceeditors.org), the guidelines of the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS) [http://cioms.ch], and the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) [http://www.icmje.org].

Plagiarism detection policy:
Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary, a zero tolerance policy towards plagiarism and any type of fraudulent practice is maintained. All manuscripts received will be subjected to an originality analysis using Turnitin software before being sent to the peer review process.
If any form of fraud is identified, the manuscript will be immediately withdrawn from the editorial process, and the author will be notified of the situation. If plagiarism, self-plagiarism or any other violation of ethical standards is detected, the journal will implement the following measures:

  • Rejection of the manuscript.
  • Direct communication to the author(s) about the detected infraction.

Space Scientific Journal of Multidisciplinary encourages researchers to accurately and adequately cite all original sources used in their work. In order to guarantee the quality and originality of the published articles, each contribution will be submitted to a similarity analysis using Turnitin plagiarism detection software, ensuring compliance with the highest ethical standards.

The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding good editorial practices, reinforcing its commitment to academic integrity. The journal also reserves the right to use Turnitin at any stage of the editorial process, including both manuscripts under review and those already published, in order to verify the originality of the documents.

Peer review process:
Each manuscript received will be submitted for evaluation by two external reviewers, who will use a standard instrument for evaluation and arbitration of scientific articles (Review Template) to issue their assessment. After completing the review process, the authors will be notified about the status of their work, which can be: accepted without modifications, accepted with modifications or rejected, always respecting the opinion issued by the reviewers.
The evaluation process will follow a double-blind model to guarantee objectivity and avoid bias, which ensures that neither the authors nor the reviewers know the identities of the parties involved. The confidentiality of this procedure will be under the responsibility of the editorial committee.
Once the reviewers conclude their evaluations and, if necessary, the suggested corrections have been incorporated, the editorial committee will make the final decision regarding the publication of the manuscript. Subsequently, the article will be submitted for typesetting and sent to the editor-in-chief for final authorization before being officially published in the journal.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • The text should be submitted in word (doc, docx), on A4 size paper and justified, with 2.5 cm margins on all four sides of the page, using Arial font, size 12 with 1.15 line spacing, no space between paragraphs and no indentation.
  • The length of the papers should not be less or more than the number of pages allowed according to the type of document. These limits include cover page, abstract, graphs, photographs, illustrations, bibliographical references and annexes.
  • All pages must be numbered on the lower right side with Arabic numerals.
  • If tables and graphs are used, they can be placed inside the article as appropriate; they must be numbered and with their respective title and source according to APA 7th edition standards.
  • In the body of the paper, no bold or underlining should be used; however, the italic font style may be used to highlight a relevant term or concept, for words in a language other than Spanish. For the titles of books and journals, the acronyms used should be presented the first time in parentheses, after the term to which they refer.
  • URLs of references are provided if available.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Guidelines for Authors. Download format and submission template

  • Articles must be accompanied by a document signed by all authors, or failing that by the signature of the lead author, including: Authorship and Ethics Format and Contribution Format.
