Resumen

La exposición ocupacional al ruido constituye un riesgo relevante para la salud y el desempeño del personal de mantenimiento industrial, especialmente cuando no se utilizan de forma sistemática los protectores auditivos. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar las consecuencias y los factores asociados a la no utilización de protección auditiva en el personal de mantenimiento de la compañía Llori Llerena Cuatroele S.A. Se desarrolla una investigación de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño descriptivo y corte transversal, mediante la aplicación de dos cuestionarios tipo Likert orientados a identificar el nivel de uso de protectores auditivos, los factores individuales y organizacionales asociados, así como las consecuencias percibidas en la salud auditiva, el desempeño laboral y la seguridad. Los resultados evidencian un uso irregular de los protectores auditivos, influido por barreras individuales y condiciones operativas, y la presencia de molestias auditivas y afectaciones moderadas del desempeño. Se concluye que la disponibilidad y el conocimiento no garantizan conductas preventivas sostenidas, siendo necesario fortalecer estrategias integrales de prevención del riesgo por ruido.
