Abstract

In the face of increasing demands on sustainability and traceability within supply chains, this article critically examines the role of smart tools such as IoT, blockchain, big data, and artificial intelligence (AI) in the digital transformation of logistics and production. Through a systematic literature review of 58 studies indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (2018-2024), key applications, operational and environmental benefits, as well as technological and organizational barriers are identified. The results show that the combination of IoT and blockchain significantly improves real-time traceability, while the integration of big data and AI optimizes resource use, reduces emissions and facilitates the design of circular production systems. However, challenges such as interoperability, technical training and ethical data governance remain. It is concluded that these technologies constitute a strategic way to achieve more efficient, transparent and sustainable systems, although their effective adoption requires coordinated structural and interinstitutional efforts.
