Abstract

This article analyzes the role of social-emotional education (SEE) in child development from a critical and multidisciplinary perspective, evidencing its positive impact on emotional self-regulation, social skills and academic performance. Through a qualitative and exploratory literature review of recent scientific literature, we systematize findings that demonstrate how SSE contributes to psychological well-being and the construction of inclusive school environments. The results reveal significant benefits in behavior, motivation to learn and child resilience, although structural barriers to its implementation are also identified, such as the lack of teacher training, scarcity of pedagogical resources and the absence of inclusive public policies. It is concluded that integrating SSE systematically and transversally into school curricula is not a secondary option, but an urgent need to promote the comprehensive and equitable development of children in diverse educational contexts.
